Last year Addie Sheeley of Walden, New York, was poised to be the first female contender in the history of TTC, but at the last minute she had to back out. We were disappointed, to say the least, but when we saw that she had re-entered this year's competition, we decided to give her another opportunity to be voted in by her fellow readers.
