Understeer: Car Refuses to Turn Understeer: The front wheels lose grip and in spite of the amount of steering input the driver makes, the vehicle plows ahead. Recover by lifting off the accelerator and decreasing the steering angle until the front tires have regained grip, then make the turn. It's easier to prevent understeer (slow down) than to recover from it. View Related Article
