The problem with those darn fullsizes is that you just can't see over the hood. Stephen had to practically climb out of the Jimmy to figure out where he was going in the canyon section. |
After another rollover, Mike and the CJ-7 were righted and progress continued up No Man's Land. Whenever Mike got into trouble, the winch was used. However, this strategy ate up a lot of time and Mike timed out while still in the canyon section. |

The Moeser Dozer was blasting its way out of Hole 2 when yet another tire blew off of the bead. Chris had already used his spare to replace the other tire that flew off of the bead in the Obstacle Course, so he was spareless. The guys did the best to get the tire back on the bead but ran out of time. |
To replace Chris' 44-inch Bogger, another competitor loaned his spare. It was brought to the bottom of the Tank Trap in the back seat of a Mustang convertible and then pushed to the wounded Moeser Dozer. |

The Big Bad 'Burb blew through the Tank Trap with little difficulty. Having lots of horsepower, lots of tire, and a good amount of suspension flex allowed Brian to get through while using his winch just twice. Brian claimed his secret weapon was not caring about body damage. A good thing, too. |
Once again the boys from down South showed us how it was done. They blew through the Tank Trap in a super-quick 7 minutes and 6 seconds. Looking full of confidence, they splashed across most of the water holes and only had to winch once. The small S-10 cab on the fullsize frame and axles allowed them to run hard through No Man's Land without any worry of body damage. |

In Hole 5, Ferris accidentally ran over the winch cable but through good teamwork and communication, the cable was freed and progress continued. After a quick winch in Hole 6, Ferris was able to make it to the finish line. |
Bob and the M-37 showed their never-say-die attitude in their attack on the Tank Trap. When the clutch started to go, Bob simply bashed the shifter until it would go into gear. When the truck ran over the winch cable in Hole 4, wrapping the cable around the front axle several times, Bob refused to quit and was able to somehow unravel the submerged cable. Time finally ran out on the berm into Hole 6, but Bob had come much farther than most of us thought he would. |

No Man's Land was extra nasty this year and claimed its most victims ever. One of these was the F-150 that got stuck in one of the massive ruts. A broken sector shaft finally ended Eric's day and he had to be pulled out of the Tank Trap backwards. |
We thought we heard "Duelin' Banjos," the theme song from the movie Deliverance, playing in the background when the boys from Tennessee started to celebrate. They were rightfully happy at their First-place finish in the Trap. |

Mike and his CJ-7 went over in the Tank Trap but this time it was a nice, gentle flop onto the side instead of going over twice like on the Hillclimb. However, Mike really didn't look too bothered by the flop. We suspect he was getting used to it by now. |
Scott and the Toyota started the Tank Trap with a broken CV joint in the frontend. He was making steady but slow progress through No Man's Land when the 30-minute time limit expired. |
