Instead of loading it up with lots of water like we usually do, we decided to go heavy on the mud. We found some heavy clay mud that would stick to everything. All of this was in an effort to stop our capable crop of vehicles in their tracks. As we soon learned, however, our efforts didn't do much to stop the competitors. Usually scoring the mud pit is an easy process. The competitor who gets the farthest before getting bogged down is the winner. Occasionally a rig will make a full run, and is the winner. This year, much to our amazement, six of our competitors made full passes through the mud pit. So we decided to have a run-off and ran those who made full first passes backwards through the slop for a second time. Whoever set the fastest time during the second run was deemed the winner. We really didn't expect much of the Raptor in the mud as it was built for the rocks, but Scott surprised us by being second in the pit. Even though he was covered with goo, Scott was still happy. We really didn't expect much of the Raptor in the mud as it was built for the rocks, but S The Frog attacked the mud, unleashing its big-block power to send lots of mud flying and easily made it through the pit on the first run. However, on the way back he hit a big hole and wasn't able to make a full return pass. The Frog attacked the mud, unleashing its big-block power to send lots of mud flying and e The cameras were ready for action, but unfortunately, Tim's Land Cruiser seemed to have an allergic reaction to mud. Right after staging for the pit, it wouldn't start. It was decided to give Tim a second attempt, but even then, the Toyota still wouldn't budge. The cameras were ready for action, but unfortunately, Tim's Land Cruiser seemed to have an Having the smallest tires of the bunch didn't help Toby and his Flattie in the slop. Not enough tire for the thick mud.Jerry's Jeep: Lots of power and tire and not a lot of weight were a good combo.Corey's Chevy: Was heading through the mud with a good amount of momentum when the engine died. Got a little farther when competitors decided to give him a second chance.Jesse's 'Yota: Winged it through the mud on both passes.Abba's Scout: Made it a little over halfway before running out of steam and sinking into the mud.John's Bronco: Made a full pass the first time, but on the second attempt found a big hole.Scott's Raptor: Surprisingly quick in the mud for a rock buggy.Bob's Blazer: Blew right through the pit on both attempts. With 44-inch Boggers and plenty of power under the hood, Jerry and his Jeep were right at home in the mud pit. Using lots of throttle, he hugged the outside wall of the pit and made a full pass. A quick time on the second run resulted in a Third-place finish. With 44-inch Boggers and plenty of power under the hood, Jerry and his Jeep were right at Results 1st Run/2nd Run (feet/seconds if full run) 1.
