In addition to our friend Gary Enterline from BFG; also on hand were Robertta Burns, CEO of Imperial County; Wally Leimgruber, Supervisor of the 5th District of Imperial County; Bob Ham, Executive Director of Imperial County Association of Governments; Dallas Meeks, BLM Ranger; and Carrie Simmons, BLM Archaeologist. Most important to our community, the Imperial County Board of Supervisors pledged to make Imperial County the most OHV friendly destination in the state. In an era of rampant land closures, it is truly rare that a government sees the many benefits in allowing responsible wheeling, so we'd like to offer up kudos to Imperial County. And with some of the best wheeling locations in the Southwest, we recommend you visit and enjoy its endless miles of trail systems and recreation areas at some point in the near future.
The following additional five trails have also been selected as part of the 2008 BFGoodrich Tires Outstanding Trails program:
- Blacktail/Wild Bill OHV Trail located in the Flathead National Forest of Montana
- Iron Range OHV Recreational Area in Gilbert, Minnesota
- Quinn Trail that leads to Quinn Lake in Ottawa, Canada
- Pritchett Canyon, one of the toughest trails in Moab, Utah
- Beasley Knob OHV trail located near Blairsville, Georgia
Partners to the Outstanding Trails program include Tread Lightly!, United Four Wheel Drive Associations, and BFGoodrich.
