Standard Stamp Mill remains the largest mine in the Bodie Mining District. There were 30 local mines at peak. The Standard produced $15 million worth of ore in its first 25 years of operation. Gold was worth $20 to $35 per ounce between the 1860s and 1938, when this mill ceased operation. Silver ran 70 cents to $1 per ounce. Overall, the district produced $100 million in silver and gold at those prices.
