Plan A for accessing the preserve was foiled, but only temporarily. We left I-15 behind at Nipton Road, and then turned onto Ivanpah Road. Here's the road's namesake: the ghost town of Ivanpah. Ivanpah sprang to life in the 1870s after silver was found in the nearby Clark Mountains. The place experienced a small boom, but then went bust a short while later. This shack is the most prominent structure here.
