The fire was but a faint orange glow on the horizon when we set up camp, but it was moving fast and we set our alarm for 2:00 a.m. We were awakened by the smell of smoke. Peering out the window of our roof-mounted ARB tent, we saw that the entire horizon was fiery red. Our thoughts at that moment: "We need to get out of here."
