Texas Muddin' Meets Spring Break
Spring Break is a time-honored tradition almost everywhere across this country, from the beaches of Florida to the casinos of Las Vegas. In the mud bogs from coast to coast, things get crazy.
Rednecks With Paychecks Off Road sits just outside St. Jo, Texas, which was the final destination for Spring Break revelers this past March. The venue packed in an estimated 10,000 people, 1,500 trucks, and around 3,000 ATVs and side-by-sides. The event was not just a typical mud bog with trucks circling one big mud pit (although we love those events too). It also included rock racing, redneck downhill racing for ATVs, and the Ark-La-Tex Pro Mud Drag Racing with a $10,000 purse. Of course we can't go any further without mentioning the bikini contest ($1,000 prize), vendor area with great food and merchandise, fireworks, and Saturday night concerts. The entertainment was provided by Stoney LaRue, Whiskey Myers, The Cadillac Three, Phil Hamilton, and Kaleb McIntire.

Since the last event the park now sits on an additional 230 acres and has a new mud pit called the Back 40. With two huge mud pits, seven smaller pits for ATVs and side-by-sides, four-wheel-drive trails, and huge boulders and steep climbs for the rockcrawlers, there is something for every off-road enthusiast to sharpen their driving skills on or just party and have fun. The event grounds also have more than enough camping spaces to accommodate everyone and keep them from driving off the property after a long day in the mud.
The Rednecks With Paychecks Off Road events are not only a blast, but a portion of the proceeds received will benefit the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department as well as Muenster Jaycees, Nocona Booster Club, Saint Jo ISD, Nocona Carpenter Shop, Nocona Cheer Unlimited, and Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce. If you missed out on the action or would like to attend again, the next event will be held October 24-27. See you there!
