Pro Rock - Rockcrawling In The Midwest

Rockcrawling in Indiana? There is when ProROCK holds its competition at the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica. You may think that the sport of rockcrawling is a western idea, but there are plenty of boulders, cliffs, and ledges back east if you know where to look. We journeyed to the Midwest off-road Mecca of Badlands to get a first-hand look at how tough the courses could be, and they were downright nasty. Bob Hazel of Sports in the Rough runs the Superlift ProROCK National Series, and this summer the Warn Indiana Rockcrawling Championship was the fourth event in the series. Two separate classes are run on similar courses, with the Modified Stock vehicles going first. The full-on gonzo Trophy trucks finish off the event, much to the delight of the spectators. A total of six events were held, with the scores of the best four showings going toward the points total. The final event scheduled for the middle of November in Nevada will also break any ties in the standings for the championship. For more information contact Sports in the Rough at 800/556-2801 or
