In early March of every year the desert sun begins attracting off-roaders like moths to a naked light bulb. That desert sun rises over the Truckhaven Hills and Ocotillo Wells SVRA Park outside of Borrego Springs, California, and to this desert playground come thousands of Jeepers, wheelers, riders, and revelers. The barren landscape is sprouted with motorhomes, tow rigs, and tents of every size as the Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari gets into full swing. Vendors arrive with every off-road widget imaginable, and the weekend is capped off with a blowout raffle and a fireworks display that sends everyone home a winner.

The area where all these 4x4 maniacs come to play has an abundance of hills, ditches, notches, and washes. The terrain is epic to see and a blast to drive, as you can cruise the high vistas with ease, run down dry riverbeds at speed, or twist your suspension to the max while clawing your way through tight dirt crevasses. We go every year and you should too. It’s a fun place with a variety of terrain. To find out more, check out www.tds4x4.com.
