A few buildings in fair condition remain at the Iron Chest Mine, nestled in a small valley nearly 12,000 feet up the mountain, at the end of an in-and-out trail. While there, be sure to locate the still-standing tram towers, which indicate the route of thousands of feet of cable that previously wound down to the valley floor.
