This ’48 belongs to Kent Johnson and it’s as if he knew that we are suckers for orange Jeeps. The 413ci small-block Chevy V-8 with 14.8:1 compression breathing through fenderwell headers and no mufflers didn’t hurt either. The engine sends power out to a front Dana 30 and rear Dana 44 through a TH350 and Spicer 18. The rear axle has a limited slip, but the front axle is open and both are spinning 5.38 gears. The factory Willys chassis is still under there, and the whole thing has been lowered about 2 inches. With 29-inch-tall studs, clearance isn’t a problem.
