Oregon is often associated with rain, and with all that rain you’re bound to get mud -- a lot of it. So what better place to have a mud event than Oregon? Each March the Santiam 4WD Association puts on Mud Fest, a muddy, dirty, sloppy good time held on private land outside of Sweet Home, Oregon. The event attracts all kinds of rigs from around the Pacific Northwest: small Suzuki Samurais, massive deuce-and-a-halfs, custom-built big-block mud buggies on ag tires, bone-stock 1950s pickups.
"Mud Fest is a great place for the whole family to get dirty"
Mud Fest is a great place for the whole family to get dirty. Tickets sell out quickly for this popular event, and each year you’ll see familiar faces and new attendees ready for a day in the mud. There was even a wedding proposal! It rained nearly all day during the event, which in many place would be considered bad luck. However, at Mud Fest it means more mudslinging and more excitement.
