Matt Larson of Hubbardston, Massachusetts, had probably the nicest CJ-7 out there that day. He did a frame-off restification with his dad and ended up with the CJ we destroyed countless Jeeps while trying to build. A 350ci Chevy V-8 lives under the hood fed by a Q-jet carburetor (for the time being) and is backed by a SM465 transmission. From there the Dana 300 is the only ’85 Jeep part left in this Jeep but it has a Tera Low 4:1 gears in it. The front and rear Dana 44s were yanked from a Scout and hang under the springs. An OX locker in the front one and an Eaton Detroit Locker in the rear are spun by 3.55 gears and turn a set of 35x12.50R15 BFG MTs. The front flat fenders, rock sliders, and anti-wrap bar are all home-fabbed.
