Our fearless leader for the day, Denis Volkov, might not have been the chattiest trail guide we’ve ever had, but he got the job done. His ’97 Wrangler follows a pretty simple build idea. Put big parts where needed. As such, the factory 4.0L and 32RH three-speed auto are still there with the addition of a 241OR. From there the big starts in the form of a Dana 60 front axle and 14-bolt rear axle, both stuffed with 4.88s. Up front an ARB Air Locker splits power left and right while out back a Detroit Locker takes care of it. The 40-inch MT/Rs on Raceline beadlocks seemed perfectly at home in the rocks.
