This yellow ’70 CJ-5 survivor is owned by Don Butler and co-piloted by Don’s son, Jesse, both of Rio Linda, California. The Jeep is very stock and was found basically as it sits in a barn. It’s powered by a Dauntless V-6 with a Rochester two-barrel and the oil-bath air filter. A T-14, Spicer 18 with Warn Overdrive, Dana 27 front, and flanged Dana 44 rear spinning 4.88s turn a set of narrow 33x10.5R15 BFGoodrich KM2s. Clearance comes from Rancho 21⁄2-inch springs. Steering the Jeep is a workout, thanks to original strong-arm manual steering. Roar! Feel the burn!
