Epic Willys Adventure Part 4: Carb Rebuild At Mickey D’sPosted in Events on March 20, 2016
The group of wandering Willys headed out of Walsenburg, Colorado on Day 8 of the Epic Willys Adventure in hopes of a breakage-free day. The very first steep climb was up to Laveta Pass, and when the parade arrived at the McDonald’s in Alamosa, rather than a leisurely lunch stop, they spent some time rebuilding a carburetor in the parking lot. In an attempt to make up for lost time, they moved on to Wolf Springs before stopping for lunch, gas, and a quick roadside nap. The second big ascent of the day was up to Wolf Creek during which the Epic climbed to 10,857 feet. From that point on it was free sailing (or driving), with only a few carburetor adjustments in Pagosa Springs, before the Epic Willys Adventure ended the day in Durango, Colorado.
