Kansas Rocks Recreation Park Celebrating Added Land With Second Grand Opening SaturdayPosted in Events on May 19, 2017
The Kansas Rocks Recreation Park will celebrate a “Grand Opening 2.0” Saturday, May 20, to commemorate the addition of 160 acres to the off-road facility in Mapleton, Kansas. Starting at 9:30 a.m., the park will celebrate its now-380 acres with an opening ceremony and free coffee, cider, and donuts for attendees. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the park will remain open until 9 p.m.. Staff will be on hand tonight and tomorrow night for free camping at the park.
The new property includes a variety of terrain, helping off-roaders hone their skills and enjoy their time off-road. A trail map for the addition is coming soon, but until then, the staff at Kansas Rocks will provide hand-drawn maps to visitors, including details on trail ratings and the five entrances to the new acreage.
Visitors can sign in tomorrow starting at 8 a.m. The larger trail system will cost the same as it did before the expansion: $20 per vehicle, or $70 for an annual pass.
If you are in the area, check out the newly expanded Kansas Rocks Recreation Park, and be sure to take lots of photos to send us! The more off-road parks, the better!
