What? A JL in Moab? Skyjacker's 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL #EJS2018Posted in Events on March 26, 2018
Anyone with a pulse who gives a single darn about off-roading knows about the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. Many enthusiasts and all the manufacturers are lining up at the Jeep dealership to buy one so they can start playing with the new and improved Wrangler. Heck, if we didn’t have to sell more kidneys than we have to afford one we’d be next in line…meh…maybe we’ll wait until things shake out a bit more and the used (or salvage title) inventory is a bit larger.
With Easter Jeep Safari 2018 in full swing, you can bet that there are more than just a few new JLs in Moab, and while we haven’t seen them all, we have seen many of them. Most are stock, and some are modified, but as of right now, Sunday evening, we can safely say that our favorite JL of EJS 2018—so far—is this black Rubicon owned (and built for Moab) by our friends at Skyjacker. Sure, it’s a corporate build, and we tend to shy away from them, but over the years the folks at Skyjacker have proven that they are enthusiasts with a passion for off-road that runs deep. This JL is running Skyjacker’s new 4-inch suspension, a Warn Zeon Winch, and a set of 40-inch Milestar Patagonia tires on some great-looking Method beadlock wheels.
We first saw this JL on the annual Warn, ARB, and Skyjacker run that this year was headed down the Crystal Geyser trail with a little play time at the White Wash Sand Dunes north and west of Moab, Utah. The Jeep is a Rubicon model with lots of bells and whistles, but the reason it’s an eye-catcher is that well-executed black-and-gold color scheme.
So now that the JL craze has started, what do you think we will see next with this platform?
