Overland Expo West is a gathering of all things Overland in Flagstaff, Arizona. In case you haven’t heard, Overlanding is best described as vehicle dependent travel. Overlanders build vehicles capable of extended travel through the backcountry, often carrying enough food, water, fuel, and adventure gear to remain self-sufficient for many days without returning to what we call “civilization.”
We did some exploration ourselves—wandering the many rows and aisles of vehicles and gear, all with the goal of giving you a glimpse of what you missed if you couldn’t make it.
The show took place in the sprawling 413-acre Fort Tuthill County Park, just outside of Flagstaff. Though it normally draws nature enthusiasts, bike riders, and holds the annual County Fair; this weekend the park was packed with adventure vehicles.
The show includes a vendor show, a skills area where drivers can hone their off-road handling, plenty of options for food, instructional sessions from well-known overlanding experts, and on-site camping where many displayed their rolling accommodations.
