Overland Expo West: That's Unique

Like every faction of off-roading, rigs can tend to “look the same” after a while. Not to say Overland Expo West is full of monotony, but these rigs below made us stop, take a few steps back, put down the camera for a moment, and ogle at the creativity.

While cruising the campsites, we found a Cherokee and a half. Pulled by a Jeep Cherokee, this half-Cherokee was outfitted for exploration, complete with a week’s worth of camping gear, off-road hitch, and a rooftop tent.

We love seeing old Defenders, especially ones with two more wheels than we’re used to. Two diesel tanks, a PTO winch, and selectable four- and six-wheel drive.

How often do you see Porsche Cayennes out on the trails? Well we didn’t—it was parked; however, we assume this one gets wheeled.

Overland Expo West is a gathering of all things Overland in Flagstaff, Arizona. In case you haven’t heard, Overlanding is best described as vehicle dependent travel. Overlanders build vehicles capable of extended travel through the backcountry, often carrying enough food, water, fuel, and adventure gear to remain self-sufficient for many days without returning to what we call “civilization.”

Make sure to stay tuned to for updates on what we find at Overland Expo this year, there are sure to be many exciting rigs, gear items, and more!
