Wait. What? Tents?
Yep, you read that right. This is a look at a few of the rooftop and bed tents of the 2018 SEMA Show.
As we made our way through Day 1 of the SEMA Show, we noticed pretty quickly that there were more tents than we’ve seen in the past. After a while we started counting—we stopped when we ran out of fingers and toes.
Undoubtedly driven by the popularity of overlanding, we saw tents on vintage International Scouts, F-series pickups, Ram pickups, Jeep Wranglers, Toyota Tacomas and Tundras, a Land Rover Defender, Toyota Land Cruisers, and a Toyota 4Runner, among others.
So if you’re into overlanding (or whatever you wish to call it), or even if you’re not, we’ve constructed a gallery of some of the tent-shod rigs we saw on Day 1 of the 2018 SEMA Show.
In case you’re not familiar with the SEMA Show, here’s the lowdown: It’s a four-day automotive event held at the Las Vegas Convention Center that showcases aftermarket parts and accessories, and it’s not open to the general public. Only those in the industry can obtain credentials. It attracts 162,000 individuals, and that number is said to include 70,000 buyer companies, 3,600 media representatives, and 2,400 exhibiting companies.
