Vintage Road Trip To Moab, Part 2

Last week I told you all about my trip to Moab. Well I just rolled into my driveway after a week of fun and adventure.

The odometer on my '49 CJ-3A says I racked up 1,200 miles on the trip. That's road and trail miles.

While in Moab for EJS I ran most of Chicken Corners, Pritchett Canyon (up to rocker knocker and back), Hells Revenge (including Hells Gate), Poison Spider Mesa, the first 100 yards of Cliff Hanger (it was a parking lot). Then I ran Kane Creek which is more washed out than last year and as fun as ever. I also hit the first part of Fins N Things and the first part of Moab Rim. I also ran Baby Lions Back in the flattie and with my remote control Axial SCX-10 Rubicon.

During my trip I also was part of an unofficial Flattie only run we called Flattie Iron Mesa. The newest Flattie of the group was Christian Hazel's '53 DJ-3A. Keep your eyes peeled for full coverage of Flattie Iron Mesa in Four Wheeler.

All in all the trip was a blast. My failures were a few fuses, the cheep side mirror bracket on my Willys which literally vibrated to death, a motor mount bolt, and oh yea I had to seal up the fuel tank.

I got to wheel with lots of my friends area some great food and had an awesome Moab 2014. Can't wait till next time, well yes I can, I really need a nap first!
