2000 Chevy Silverado Rear View Flex
Hundreds of people witnessed the flexibility of Adkins' Chevy at the Lima Spring Jamboree in Lima, Ohio. On a 20-degree RTI ramp, he scored 1,000 points and on the 30-degree ramp, he racked up a score of 791.
2000 Chevy Silverado Subframe
This custom subframe is made from 2-inch DOM tubing and it serves as the attachment point for all of the control arms. It also acts as a mount for the transfer case. Left of center, you can see the steering rocker arm that is part of the double-back steering system.
2000 Chevy Silverado Upper Front Link
Here you can see the triangulated upper front link. It is a duplicate of the rear upper link, only shorter in overall length. Like the rear link, it fastens to a custom mount on the axle and the subframe in the center of the vehicle. Both links have spherical rod ends and high misalignment spacers at all connection points to allow full suspension articulation without binding.

Up to this point, most of Adkins' time and money have been spent on creating a super-functional suspension and driveline. That's not to say he's totally neglected the rest of his rig. He's added an East Coast Customs fiberglass dual-ram air hood, a Lund roll pan, and he's tweaked the 5.3L V-8 engine with a K&N FIPK kit and a custom 3-inch-diameter dual after-cat exhaust.
2000 Chevy Silverado Rear Suspension
The rear suspension system is a duplicate of the front. Like the front axle, the rear axle is also a Dana 60. However, the rear has been fitted with a Detroit Locker to enhance traction. In order to ensure that he can rein in the big 49s, Adkins installed a disc-brake conversion kit that uses GM rotors and calipers.
2000 Chevy Silverado Shocks
King Off-Road Racing 2.5x16 remote-reservoir coilover shocks reside on all four corners of the Chevy. They're made from 6061 T-6 machined aluminum and feature Teflon-lined spherical rod ends. They fasten to the truck on custom upper and lower mounts.
