1987 Chevy K20 Rear Axle
1987 Chevy K20 Truck - Cam Of Logged
One of the few stock drivetrain items that remain under the Chevy is the 14-bolt rear axle. It has been upgraded with a number of items to improve its performance, and the list includes a Detroit Locker, 5.13:1 gears, and a homemade disc-brake system. The axle gets power from a custom heavy-duty rear driveshaft that sports a 1350-series CV at the front and a 1410-series U-joint at the rear. The rear suspension is comprised of Superlift 8-inch-lift leaf springs, 3-inch lift blocks, a 4-inch shackle reversal, and a Superlift shock at each wheel. Williams removed two leaves from each spring pack to soften the ride and enhance axle articulation. View Related Article
