Going to a high-falutin' party? Don't know what to wear? Well, the fashion-conscious say that you can't go wrong with basic black. Apparently, Ernie Aguilar Jr. knows this because that's the color he chose for his '06 Ford Super Duty F-250 that was built for the greatest automotive party in the world-the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The buildup was a story in itself. The truck was purchased just 12 days before the SEMA show. You'd think with a deadline looming, he'd start wrenching on it right away, but not Aguilar. He and some friends hit the road to Glamis to break the truck in "the right way" on the sand dunes before it went under the wrench. The buildup actually began just one week before SEMA. For the next seven days, the truck underwent a whirlwind buildup that consumed Aguilar's life and took the Super Duty from bone-stock to SEMA-ready.
When it was all said and done, Aguilar's black F-250 was dressed to impress, and it was anything but basic.
