Lower Forty has a custom hood that the Mopar Underground team designed with a CJ-like "power dome." The outer skin is made of carbon-fiber, which is bonded to a stock JK inner metal hood. Stock JK latches have been relocated under the front fenders, just behind the grille.

Inside Lower Forty, the most obvious mods are the Mopar/Katzkin leather seats, Dodge Viper steering wheel, bedliner-coated tub, Mopar slush mats and body color-matched items including the center stack, gauge hood, grab bar and console. Obscure interior mods include the seat risers, which were lowered 1 inches to compensate for the chopped windshield.

2009 Jeep Wrangler Jk Dana 44 Front Axle
The front axle is a stout Dynatrac-prepped J8 Dana 44. Compared to a standard JK Dana 44, the J8 Dana 44 has larger brake rotors, larger brake calipers, and thicker-walled axletubes, among other things. Dynatrac fit this axle with a number of mods including a Burnsville Off Road Rockproof Axle Upgrade Kit, an ARB Air Locker, and 5.38:1 gears. The suspension and steering are stock, but a Bilstein steering stabilizer and shocks were added.

Under the hood is a 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine that was installed by the folks at Burnsville Off Road using an AEV installation kit. This engine has an estimated output of 375 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque. Mods include a custom 2 -inch exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers and an Optima YellowTop battery. The Hemi is mated to a Getrag 238 six-speed manual transmission. This trans sends power to a Rock-Trac 4:1 transfer case. With the Getrag's First gear ratio of 4.23:1 and the rig's axle ratio of 5.38:1, Lower Forty has a darn impressive crawl ratio of 91:1.
