The bulkhead was welded in until partway into 1962, when it was made removable. Initially, it was thought that pickups (4x2 pickups no less) would be the big sellers. Within the first year, it was found that more than 80-percent of orders were for 4x4s and the Travel-Tops were the most desired, so the lack of a fixed bulkhead made it more people-friendly. View Related Article
