One of the many unique aspects of this Scout Traveler is the Cummins 4BT turbodiesel engine. It rests on custom motor mounts integrated with Dodge rubber isolators. Underhood are a number of interesting features, including an intercooler from a Mitsubishi Eclipse; modified aftermarket 3-inch-diameter powdercoated aluminum intercooler tubing; custom stainless steel air cleaner housing (which Ismail made from his dog’s water bowl); and 3-inch-diameter exhaust (no muffler). Ismail wired the engine compartment and used a factory Scout alternator and Optima RedTop battery to provide current. The engine is cooled by a stock Scout radiator with stock Scout 18-inch-diameter engine-driven fan.
