Nancy Revalee had always wanted to own a big pickup truck to cruise around her hometown of Cambridge City, Indiana. For years, she eyed her friends 91 Chevy pickup wishing that it was hers. One day, she got word that the Silverado was for sale. Without hesitation, Nancy sprang into action and purchased the truck.
Driving the truck was fun but Nancy decided she wanted something more. Soon after purchase, the modifications began. Big tires and big attitude were the goals, so a 6-inch Pro Comp lift was put into place up front. In the rear, the combination of add-a-leafs and blocks were used to level out the stance. Still more lift was needed to fit the desired tires so a 3-inch body lift was installed. With all that clearance, 39x15 Mickey Thompson Baja Belteds on 15x10 Ultra wheels fit without any problems. Pro Comp front shock hoops were put into position to allow use of multiple shocks. Out back, Pro Comp traction bars were used to try to keep wheelhop under control.
Now that the Chevy was rolling on 39s, it was discovered that the 350 V-8 could use a little help in turning the big tires. To aid breathing, a K&N air filter went into place while a Hypertech chip allowed the computer to program in some more horsepower. A dual Flowmaster exhaust system was then grafted into position to help the exit side of the engine. Finally, 4.56 gears were put in the pumpkins.
With the new suspension installed and the engine breathing better, Nancy and crew turned their attention to the interior of the truck. The stock bench was replaced with a more comfortable version with upholstery to match the rest of the interior. Billet inserts were then put in the dash wherever there was room for them. To supply the tunes, a Pioneer radio was put into place, sending juice to five Alpine speakers.
A new bench seat found its way into the interior with upholstery to match the doors. Billet inserts were used to spruce up the dash.Finally, it was time to turn attention to the exterior of the truck. A unique paint scheme was desired so Dan Zimmerman and Larry Steele went to work laying down the eye-catching graphics and tiger stripes. A smoothed Chevy bumper then replaced the factory unit up front along with a Smittybilt grille guard. In the rear, the stock bumper was removed and a molded roll pan was put into position. Finally, a cowl induction hood was used to finish off the exterior.
Now that Nancys dream truck is actually built, she can have fun enjoying it. That is at least until she dreams of another truck.
