TTC's mud pit is just that--a large trench with mud and water in it. It possibly also has abandoned vehicles. In the mud pit, the midwest pickups rule. Or maybe not. That the Quagmire Chevy longbed nabbed the first place in the bog for 1998 was nearly a given. After all, although its fit and finish were superb, the nitrous'd thing was built for mud. In 1997, a big, tired Blazer beat the field, and the prior year was won by an F-350 on 44s. Fouling the big formula for success in the mud pit were the first three years' winners: two CJ-5s and an FJ-40. What is more certain is that it takes good mud tires and much motor, unless, of course, you run mere 33s on a Samurai and more or less float across to a good finish. View Related Article
