While reading this, the December, 2000 issue of OFF-ROAD, the new millennium is fast approaching. And so, it seems like an excellent time to take a look at some of the off-road community's favorite trucks from the previous millennium that have, after a few noteworthy upgrades, made the move into 2001, looking and performing better than ever. From our point of view, it's great to see that venerable workhorses such as Ford's F-150, Jeep's Wrangler, and Dodge's Ram - still sporting a solid front axle - continue to have what it takes to satisfy enthusiasts with a need for 'wheelin action, even though time marches on. Trucks based on fresh designs, such as Chevy's Silverado, are well equipped to handle the rigors of 2001, but even the General's finest received a few tweaks in the interest of improved performance and style. With that intro out of the way, let's look at what changes automakers have made to some of our favorite rides.
