Nick Sessions of Colorado believes in being fully prepared while off-road. As a testament to that, he prepared his '90 Jeep XJ with a lift consisting of a custom springover, seven-leaf pack up front and a shackle reversal, custom five-leaf pack rear with Tera Flex shackles. The XJ runs Warn alloy axles and a Dana 44 with a Detroit and 4.56 gears up front. The rearend is a full-width Ford 9-inch with 31-spline axles and 4.56 gears. The Jeep also has a full Exo cage, transmission, transfer case and gas tank skidplates, custom bumpers, rock rails, and front XD 9000I and rear X8000I multi-mount winches.
Gary Kunkleman has rebuilt his '87 Jeep six times for one reason or another since purchasing it in 1994. As it stands, the Jeep has a new 258 engine with Mopar MPI fuel injection, a 180-amp alternator, a Jacobs Omni Magnum ignition, a K&N filter, and dual Optima batteries. The drivetrain is a combination of a 999 automatic transmission with an auxiliary cooler, an Atlas II 3.8 transfer case, a Dana 44 front axle with an ARB air locker, and a Dana 60 rear with a Detroit Locker and 4.88 gears. Other modifications on Gary's Jeep include Super Swampers, 15x8-inch American steel wheels, a Ramsey REP 8,000-pound winch, Tuffy lock boxes, a Rubicon 4-inch lift, and a M.O.R.E 1-inch body lift. After all that, maybe, just maybe now he's ready to tackle some trails.
Although this picture was taken on the Rubicon, this '99 TJ Sport was built for the Alaskan mud. Owner Brandon DeWind equipped the Sport with a Jet chip, a K&N air intake, Borla headers, and a Gibson after-cat exhaust. It has a 4-inch Pro Comp lift with a 1-inch M.O.R.E. body lift and drives on Center Line wheels wrapped with 35x12.50 BFG A/Ts. The TJ is also equipped with a Warn 8,500-pound winch, a Cobra CB, and 4.56 gears with Tru Tracs.
When Frederic Hartell bought this '97 Jeep Cherokee, it only had a 3-inch Pro Comp lift. Since then, Frederic has upgraded the performance with a Jet chip; a Turbo City air tube with a K&N filter and an upgraded throttle body; a Poweraid throttle-body spacer; and Borla headers flowing through a Flowmaster after-cat system. Body modifications include an ARB front bumper with a Warn M8000 winch and PIAA lights, custom hood vents, and Rusty Off-Road fender flares. The Jeep also has a Durango 4x4 rear bumper with a custom Hi-Lift Jack, Olympic 4x4 rock rails, and a Mopar roof tire carrier. It uses a set of Super Swamper SSR 33x12.50 tires wrapped around Mickey Thompson 15x8-inch Classics.
