Desktop Dyno - Dyno 2000 Engine Simulator - Media ReviewPosted in Features on August 1, 2002
If you've been looking at rebuilding the engine in your trail rig and have been wondering how all of the different parts are going to work together when you're done, then Dyno2000 is a tool you can't do without.
Dyno2000 is a state-of-the-art engine simulation program designed to run on your PC. It will let you build and test virtually any engine you can imagine. All you have to do is select the parts and components you'd like to run, and the program will then give you the torque and horsepower numbers, which Mr. Gasket says are accurate to within 5 percent of real-world dyno numbers.
There are literally millions of different parts that you can choose from as you build your virtual engine. And since Dyno2000 can handle any import or domestic engine with as many as 12 cylinders, you can even toy around with engine configurations you'd never actually run in real life. You can test for fuel injection, engine pressure, airflow, and a wide range of other variables. You can even build engines side by side and run comparison charts that show you how each one performs.
Dyno2000 is a dynamic, accurate way to figure out what you want and need out of an engine before you ever pull a valve cover. And beyond that, it's just a lot of fun.
