Backroads of Minnesota
Many of the backcountry guides that find their way across our desk seem to focus primarily on the western United States, particularly the Southwest. So we were delighted to find a book that took us someplace new and utterly unknown; in this case, Minnesota.

Backroads of Minnesota is filled with the kind of rich photography that makes you want to visit a place. It captures the essence of one of our most beautiful states. The book is logically divided into regions, which allows the reader to concentrate on specific areas and explore the little known routes and trails that the authors have so nicely mapped out at the beginning of each section.

Backroads of Minnesota is also just as much a historic account as it is a guide to the gopher state's backroads. It recounts much of the interesting history that influenced the creation of various trails, which adds a great deal to the process of exploration itself.

The land of 10,000 lakes is a whole other world to explore, so if you are planning a trip to Minnesota, this book will act as an excellent guide to get you started.
