Editor's Note: Mail your submissions to 4 Wheel Drive & Sport Utility Magazine, Trail Rigs, 774 S. Placentia Ave., Placentia, CA 92870. All photos remain the property of McMullen Argus Publishing. Our file of Trail Rigs is extremely low; please submit photos of your vehicle out on the trail ASAP.

Blazing BroncoRobert Zika of Corona, California, and his faithful trail pal Brutus spend as much time as possible out on the trail in Robert's super-clean '74 Ford Bronco. Robert fit the Bronco with a freshly rebuilt 351ci Windsor engine and an Edelbrock intake, carburetor, and headers. The C-4 transmission and Dana 20 transfer case were also rebuilt and provide additional trail dependability. The Ford 9-inch rear axle still retains the factory limited slip, and the front Dana 44 was fit with Warn alloy axles. The vehicle rolls on 35x12.50R15LT tires wrapped over 15x10-inch steel wheels. Additional features include long-travel radius arms with 1-inch Heim joints; Wild Horses 5-1/2-inch-lift front coil springs; National 5-1/2-inch lift leaf springs in the rear; an adjustable track bar; James Duff Stage III long-travel shock hoops; Rancho RS9000 shocks; a 2-inch body lift; and Beard seats. For body protection out on the trail, the Bronco sports Wild Horses front and rear bumpers.

Green MachineAfter four long years of restoration, Eli Matthews has finally finished his '77 Ford Bronco. He never thought he would get it done, but he says, "It was worth the wait." The mods include a complete frame-up restoration, a new 351 Windsor engine, a 2-1/2-inch Superlift suspension system, a Warn HS9500 winch, a custom rollbar, and a cool green paintjob. The Bronco rolls on 33x12.50-15LT TSL Thornbirds mounted on aluminum mag wheels.

Mud RunnerBryce Atcheson loves running the trails and mud holes around his home of Dallas, Georgia. His '01 Jeep TJ has a 3-inch body lift, allowing room for 33x12.5R15LT Buckshot mudders. Bryce has big plans in the near future for the Jeep: He will be adding 6 inches of lift and boosting the tire size with 39-inch Super Swampers and a V-8 engine swap.
