Safari Gard Jeep Bumper - Ready To Rock - Products Review

Safari Gard is a familiar name to Land Rover enthusiasts. For years, SG has been designing and building a wide array of components for Rover owners in search of solid, well-built parts for their rigs. Now, Greg Jevne, owner of Safari Gard, has begun focusing his talents on the Jeep market as well.

The company's latest Jeep product is this new bumper designed for the Wrangler TJ. Each unit is handmade using 1-3/4-inch steel tubing, which is TIG-welded to provide the greatest possible strength. The bumpers are then powdercoated black for long-lasting protection. The design of this bumper is such that it not only provides great clearance beneath and to the sides, but it also gives you an approach angle that is far better than stock.

The new Safari Gard bumper is a direct bolt-on unit that requires absolutely no welding. Unlike a handful of bumpers out there, it will not interfere with stock or aftermarket antisway bars. For ease of installation, the bumper comes standard with an integrated winch-mounting plate, and includes a couple of tow hooks.

Taking its stylistic cues from the pre-runner contingent, the Safari Gard bumper is strong enough to take some pretty serious abuse on the rocks, yet light enough not to compress your front springs and leave your rig front-weighted. Although the big hoop is still far from the norm amongst Jeepers, this addition can actually come in handy when you're trying to work your way up an obstacle and need just a little extra leverage.

If you're in the market for a new bumper on your TJ, the Safari Gard model is definitely worth taking a look at.
