The Ultimate Vehicle-Ownership Gathering Moves West

Building upon an event that first spawned in the Colorado Rockies a decade ago, the first-ever Camp Jeep California took place just off the coast in California's Santa Ynez Mountains, in Santa Barbara County. This was the first year that Jeep expanded the ever-popular Camp Jeep into two events, providing further opportunities for Jeep vehicle owners and enthusiasts to convene in one area to celebrate the Jeep experience.

The event attracted vehicle owners and enthusiasts from all walks of life, from the newbie Jeep owner who had never even driven in the dirt to the long-time veterans who have owned and driven Jeep vehicles for most of their lives.

Upon entering the Camp Jeep compound, visitors were submersed in Jeep culture. Whether chatting one-on-one with a Jeep engineer in the Engineering Village, or learning how to properly maneuver a Jeep vehicle through tricky obstacles on the Jeep 101 instructional course, those in attendance were offered nonstop activities throughout the three-day-long event.

The Jeep 101 Village featured the Rubicon challenge course, designed to display the Wrangler Rubicon's trail-rated capabilities and offer 4x4 trail rides to all those eager to tour the scenic Santa Inez Mountains behind the wheel of their personal Jeep vehicle. Many event participants were attracted to the World of Jeep Village to visit the Jeep museum, which consisted of four separate tents with vehicles on display representing the military heritage of the Jeep brand and the evolution of the Wrangler, Cherokee, Liberty, and Grand Cherokee. Moses Ludel, author of the Jeep Owner's Bible, presented a seminar on prepping your vehicle for safe off-road driving and gave tips on maintaining a Jeep vehicle.

Other villages within the Camp Jeep venue brimmed with activities throughout each day. After the activities, Camp Jeep California presented evening entertainment, with Los Lobos headlining Friday night and the band Live taking the stage on Saturday.

One of several owner-loyalty programs created by the Jeep division of the Chrysler Group, Camp Jeep is an annual event dedicated to maintaining and building relationships with Jeep customers. For more information about future Jeep events, call (800) 789-5337, or visit www.jeep.com.
