4 Weel Drive Guide Book - Media Review

FunTreks Guidebooks has just released the second edition of Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails by Charles A. Wells. Charles tells us the original version of this book has been a bestseller for the company for more than six years, despite the now-obsolete information. He has just spent the last year bringing the book up to date.

Improvements to the second-edition guide book include 25 new trails, more photos, additional GPS information, ATV trail information, refined directions and maps, and an expanded appendix. To verify his information, Charles sent this book out to 16 USFS ranger districts for approval. The new edition includes many changes to meet the standards of the forest service. Falling in line with what we feel is a very important aspect of four-wheeling, Charles promotes environmental responsibility by directing and hopefully keeping enthusiasts on approved trails.

The guide book has something to offer every level of four-wheeler. You will find easy trails for family runs, moderate trails for sport utility adventures, and difficult hard-core trails for extreme challenges. The maps are uncomplicated and easy to follow, using simplistic legends and route markings. We highly recommend this guide book if you plan on touring Colorado's backcountry.
