In the July 2008 issue of 4 Wheel Drive & Sport Utility we told you about Hurricane, Utah, resident Boyd Barney's Search & Rescue YJ. The '94 Wrangler was built to handle any obstacle so lives could be saved. At the time, Boyd was a member of Washington County Search and Rescue's ground search team and was Captain of the High Angle Team, which does rock climbing and repelling to find those lost in places that are tough to get to.

Fast forward to 2010. Boyd is still active in Washington County Search and Rescue, but he's now the commander. This makes having a competent vehicle critical. As parts wore out, Boyd decided to freshen up his Jeep. We'll show you what he did. In case you missed the first installment, we'll also show you what makes the Search & Rescue YJ so good at what it's called on to do – save lives.
