No, this is not some elaborate April Fool's joke. The magazine you're holding in your hands right now does, in fact, feel different. After a year of kicking and screaming, the higher powers at Source Interlink Media have decided to let OFF-ROAD magazine print on thicker paper stock. Not only will your magazines now last longer on your bookshelf and in your garage, they'll make better fly swatters when you roll them up.
I'm really excited about this new magazine package, and I hope you are, too. In a time when print publications are scaling back, losing staff, and cheapening magazines and newspapers, our big bosses decided to purchase more expensive, thicker paper to print on and improve the product that comes to you in the mail or on the shelf every month. You see, we got this crazy idea that making the magazine even better will sell more copies and therefore create more revenue. Personally, I like this plan a lot better than some other's plans of cheapening everything to generate a higher profit margin. I'm sure you'll still be able to use lots of other magazines as toilet paper, but not OFF-ROAD. We'll give you a paper cut, baby!
Besides the new, thick paper, we'll also be tweaking the content you see every month...by just a little. We'll still follow the same direction of fullsize trucks and prerunners, but you're going to see a new section show up in the back of the magazine: Project Trucks. This section will contain all our project truck vehicle builds. The tech found in the Project Trucks section won't always contain the newest stuff out there on the market, but you can be sure that every single thing we bolt onto our trucks is a quality product worth reading about (hey, they're our trucks, and we're not about to bolt junk on).
If you're a new reader picking up this excellent off-road reference for the first time, please come back next month, too. We'll continue to have this same great new feel to the magazine, along with the same coverage that we've strived to print over the past few years. If you've been with us already and are scratching your head about where the heck we found extra money to print the mag on better paper...don't you worry about that. I figured out how to take a second mortgage out on my senior editor's house.

On top of that, we took a look at Camburg's new production Trophy Trucks. They're still out of the price range for most of us, but they're a lot closer to "affordable" than they used to be.
