While out riding with friends during the Rip to the Tip on the Baja Peninsula, Jeff “Ox” Kargola was killed in a fluke motorcycle accident. No one else was involved, and it was just a terrible, terrible accident.
The Desert Assassins crew was prepared for almost any type of incident, and Ox had the absolute most and best possible care he could have under the circumstances. Everyone involved with the Desert Assassins’ Rip to the Tip trip sprang into action, working like a single machine with just one mission: save Ox. Within a few minutes, they had Kargola on a helicopter and headed for the hospital in San Felipe. Everyone did everything they could.?>
Rest in peace, Ox. We’ll miss you.. OR
We were able to check out three new locking differentials to hit the market (starting on Page 30), plus Jordan May hounded some axle specialists to find out the best features to look for when purchasing aftermarket axleshafts (Page 44).
Besides that, we also found a few minutes to dig out our Almighty Dime S-10 Blazer project (Page 48), and made it down to JD Fabrication in San Diego, California, to check out a new mid-travel Chevy 1500 4x4 suspension system (Page 40).
