Multiple ingredients combined into one product to serve a single purpose: Better performance. That's the theme of this month's buyer's guide. True, for many of these packages you can also buy them as individual items, but when you start doing the bundled math and then add up the extra horsepower from the grouping, why bother?
Power Package: Aurora 2000 turbo kit for GM Duramax diesels
What's Included: Turbo, E-Power tuner, boost and EGT gauges, high-flow exhaust-manifold pedestal, AFE air-intake system, and more
Some Details: More ponies, lower exhaust-gas temps, and better fuel economy are perks of this bolt-on kit. Plus, the E-tuner lets you correct the speedo, and it can read trouble codes. The overhead gauges for EGT and boost let you track the truck's vitals while you're driving. There's a 4-inch exhaust discharge pipe; gaskets and hoses are included.
Power Package: Cooling System
What's Included: Hi-Tek engine oil andautomatic-transmission coolers, deep transmission pan, and Trick Shift performance ATF
Some Details: If your truck's cooling system isn't working properly-or is inadequate for your high-horsepower engine-performance will suffer. The Hi-Tek cooler has a 12-volt electric fan with a thermal switch to activate it. The transmission pan can handle up to 4 quarts of extra fluid, and the ATF is available in a synthetic blend.

Power Package: Big Hoss bundle for GM Duramax, IH/Ford Powerstroke, and Dodge Cummins diesels
What's Included: Six-Gun diesel tuner, PowerPDA, Techni-Cooler, Monster exhaust system, and ram-air intake
Some Details: The Six-Gun is for tuning pulse width, timing, and fuel pressure, while the Power PDA allows for adjusting power levels on the fly. The Techni-Cooler has 3-inch boost tubes, while the exhaust has a 4-inch, straight-through muffler.

Some Details: 550 rear-wheel hp. Still need more info? The high-pressure/low-pressure turbos make for quick, low-rpm response and a broad power curve across the rpm band. The intercooler increases cooling efficiency while the X-Intake's improved airflow is due in part to repositioning of the air filter to under the hood cowl area. The Pulse helps reduce backpressure and makes for quicker turbo spool-up, and the electronics allow you to tune performance.
Power Package: Top-end kit for small-block Chevy V-8s
What's Included: Intake, heads, camshaft, lifters, head and intake bolts, and gaskets
Some Details: It's based on the RPM crate engines, and there are three kits available: 410 hp with a flat-tappet cam, 435 hp for late-model small-blocks, and 435 hp to retrofit '86-and-earlier small-blocks (both of those two with hydraulic roller cams).

Some Details: The camshaft and programmer package is available for many Chevy small-blocks, the Vortec big-block, Duramax, Dodge Hemi, Ford 4.6L, and other engines. There are three settings: fuel efficiency, torque, or horsepower (less or more of each depending on which you choose)-and they are available in camo.

What's Included: Live Wire plug wires and D.U.I distributor
Some Details: Low-resistance, 11/42-inch-diameter wires work to deliver optimum spark energy to the plugs, and they have heat-resistant sleeving; they're custom-fit for each engine. A 50,000-volt coil and high-output Dyna-Module mount inside the distributor via one-wire hookup.
Power Package: Jeep Trail Jammer system
What's Included: Throttle body, electronic module, and cold-air intake
Some Details: It's for '97-to-present Wranglers and Cherokees with the 4.0L. The bolt-on kit has a high-flow throttle body in cast or billet aluminum, and the cold-air intake improves flow and has a washable/reusable filter. The module uses a factory-style harness to plug into the engine sensors to optimize fueling between the PCM and engine.

Power Package: SysteMAX II for '67-'86 small-block Chevys
What's Included: Camshaft, lifters, intake manifold, timing set, hardened pushrods, aluminum cylinder heads, and ARP head bolts
Some Details: The Performance Engine System would like to help you make 425 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Got a problem with that? The components come with heat crossover passages and 68cc combustion chambers. The intake runner volume is 185cc; exhaust is 68cc. The Lunati cam was engineered for greater air-charge density, maximum mixture combustion, and constant port velocity.
Power Package: 454 Motown short-block assembly
What's Included: World Motown small-block, Eagle connecting rods and crank, Clevite main and rod bearings, Mahle forged pistons, and Total Seal or JE ring set
Some Details: Mmm torquey. The small-block assembly has been bored to 4.250 inches, honed, and fully prepped, and there's a 4.000-inch stroke forged-steel crank. The connecting rods are 4340 forged 6.000-inch H-beam style.
Power Package: High-Performance EFI for Toyotas
What's Included: Street Performer exhaust header, oversize big-bore throttle body, Pro camshaft, and K&N fuel injection
Some Details: The 16-gauge, mandrel-bent header has a 2-inch collector, and the throttle body is designed to increase airflow 12 percent. The stock air-cleaner assembly is replaced with a free-flowing F.I.P.K. kit and retains all emissions equipment. All told, expect up to a 30 hp gain.
Power Package: Ultimate HEI kit for early GMs
What's Included: HEI module with built-in rev limiter, rotor, and cap
Some Details: For non-computerized HEIs (four-pin module). The Ultimate has circuitry designed to produce 50 percent higher coil drive currents over stock-which translates to higher spark energy. The cap has brass terminals for spot-on conductivity. There's also a new dust cover.
