The NP205 transfer case is legendary when it comes to strength, so Hairapetian didn’t feel the need to replace it. He simply rebuilt it and reinstalled it in the stock location. It has the eight-bolt “racetrack” bolt pattern with a 32-spline input shaft. The T-case is mounted to an NV4500 five-speed manual transmission that replaced the stock TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The NV4500 has a super low 5.61 First gear ratio, which helps the truck attain its commendable 50:1 crawl ratio.
