Gone is the original Dana 30 that was replaced by a beefed-up Ford high-pinion Dana 44 with a 30-spline ARB air locker and Superior chromoly Evolution axleshafts and Superior U-joints. Chris built the Dana 44 to handle the stresses of rock-crawling, so it was no surprise to find Reid racing forged steering knuckles as well as Artec Industries forged high-steer arms under the XJ. A TNT Customs front axle truss helps keep the Dana 44 from looking like an upside-down frown. S&S Custom Off-Road built the bulletproof 1.25-inch solid stock chromoly draglink using heavy-duty GM tie-rod ends. A PSC hydraulic-assist steering ram allows Chris to effortlessly maneuver the Cherokee through tight obstacles on the trail.
