Dirt Every Day Episode 10: Road Trippin' in a 1965 Dodge M37Posted in Features on June 21, 2013 Comment (0)
A new Dirt Every Day episode came out yesterday. Dirt Every Day – hosted by 4-Wheel & Off-Road Technical Editor Fred Williams and covering off road adventures – comes out every other Thursday on the Motor Trend You Tube channel. What’s next on my to-do list? To go back through all the Dirt Every Day episodes. In the latest Episode 10, Fred takes his 1965 Dodge M37 to Mammoth for some snow wheeling, then to Hollister for some more 4-wheeling, then to the sand dunes of Pismo Beach after dropping off his friend at Big Sur. You’ll recognize the M37 as Williams’ project Dumpster (so named because it looks like a ratty old truck, but has a bunch of good parts hidden inside). It features a 6.0L small-block V8 from a 2004 GMC Denali, that connects to a Ranger Overdrive, followed by a rebuilt SM-465 four- speed manual transmission and Stak three-speed transfer case. The front axle is a Dodge AAM 9.25 (from an ’07 Dodge 3500) with an ARB air locker. The rear axle is a 14-bolt also with an air locker. Dumpster works well off-road – and scares old ladies.
If you have not subscribed to the Motor Trend You Tube channel, which houses Dirt Every Day and an array of other awesome video series, then today is the day:
