If you’re thinking that’s not a VW engine, you’re right. The original plan was to use an air-cooled VW Type IV, but the reliability, power, and price of a GM Ecotec presented too much of a no-hassle advantage to ignore. This 2.0L Ecotec came from Turnkey Engine Supply, and is custom-adapted to a VW 091 “Bus box” transaxle.
