There are numerous things of interest under the GMC’s hood, including the GM 454ci Gen VI big-block crate engine. This powerhouse has a laundry list of mods including an Edelbrock camshaft, Comp Cams roller rockers, Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake manifold, Davis Unified Ignition distributor, MSD ignition, Melling high-volume oil pump, modified Proform 650 cfm carburetor, K&N air filter, Hedman headers, Flo~Pro mufflers, and 2 1/2-inch exhaust tubing. The engine is cooled by a Griffin aluminum radiator and a pair of Flex-a-lite electric fans. Electrical needs are met by a 140-amp Delco alternator and a pair of Optima YellowTop batteries. Also of interest is the custom crossbar that serves as the upper mounting location for the coilovers and the shock reservoirs. This 1.75-inch-diameter, 0.120-inch-wall crossbar has mounts welded to the frame, but is equipped with tubing clamps for easy removal.
