Ismail says that the very rare and hard to find camper was made by Four Wheel Pop Up Campers. “It was built in 1977, specifically for a Scout Traveler. The Scout Traveler is 18-inches longer than a Scout II,” he says. He also notes that the camper for the Traveler is rarer than a Scout II pop-up camper, which the company also produced. Ismail found the camper in northern California through an ad in a local newspaper. “It was in very rough shape. I disassembled the entire camper and replaced the wood above the cab and sides. My upholstery guy made a new pop-up skirt from boat canvas,” Ismail says. The result is a unique and hard to find camper that offers Ismail backcountry comforts including a two-person bed above the cab.
